The latest predominant operating systems on this planet, windows vista, has been applied to millions PCs and many more for a while. The trend of the next generation computing and entertaining tasks are rested on the robustness of the system without doubt. Microsoft has spent ages to design such a integrated giant as to compete with the powerful competitors, such as Mac and a variety of Linux kernels.
No matter how programmers or computer fans will vote for the free source operating systems for linux, and the cool appearance and the manipulation as well for Mac, a majority of the people in the world have to experience the WindowsTM, because of its familarity to the public. Vista is the substitude product for windows XP and launched in the spring of 2007. The experience version of the system is available online last year, when I had went through the installation and basic manipulations. The initial impression of the system is its similarity to some well acknowledged Linux systems, such as Fedora and Redhat.
The security management of the Vista is extremely annoying when you first accessing it without preparation. It is strict as which reminded me the file and folder management of the linux kernel. The files can't be easily manipulated as they are the property of the folder. As the common user, even the administrator, who doesn't have privilage on certain folder, one can not edit, modify the programms at all. The administrator, unlike in Windows XP, is unable to operate the files freely only because there are multiple administrators on the system. The creator of the very folder or file possibly has the full control of it while when it is transfered to another computer, the admin can not take advantage of it.
This difference troubles the file exchanges and manipulation for some computing and entertaining requirements. While the solution of it is generally editing the control privilage over them. The best way to deal with this is to setup the creator of the programs or folders to take full control over. It is advanced anyway.
