The video gallery is nowadays more and more popular other than the image gallerys. The extensive research shows that the pictures are still the predominant media format over the internet. There are hundreds of known systems which implement the photo sharing, comments, transaction operations. Quite a few of them are free to use, such as coppermine, gallery and ifoto and so on.
On the other hand, Video library still needs to be improved as the requirements for delivering such the service online. The file size for the videos are generally large which makes the video sharing, encoding and decoding a bit more difficult than the pictures. The most applications currently available are under commercial licenses and require certain amount of payment to enjoy the full services. Xe gallery, and some other components with cms.
However, the free launch of the video demonstration system provides the infrastructure framework for further development. The default flash movie player supporting .flv file is embeded. The current popular online video sharing module which is utilized in Youtube, google video etc. But, the support video format is fixed at FLV which is not allowed to download without permission. Ocassionally, the universal video format wmv, avi can be embeded into the web pages as well, and supply more control capability by the internet users.
Therefore, more scripts are added to improve the potential features of the components. The modification is under way and time to shot off though.
