It is so apparent that the difference between the two teams in the qualifier match in Wembley 21/11/2007. This is the diaster day for the British football as none of the four representatives can go through the group stage matches against Euro 2008. Croatia players are respectable as nobody will believe the qualified candidate played so well as to eliminate the seemingly potential football giant. That is agony for the fans who can't be so excited next year without their beloved home country team in the Austria and Switzerland.
Dignity, the characteristics of the Football Association, the players, the fans, is finally paid off in the crucial game, which nobody had ever thought of it before the final whistle by the referee from Sweden. The defeat of the match as the host proves again the simple fact, England is not ready to consider themselves as favorite in competitions such as Euro championship and World Cup. The flourish of the Premier League can't represent the nation's team as hardly can anyone find the best players from this country indeed. On the other hand, the manager Mclaren has to be responsible for the lost. The rigid play style of those so-called stars in the squad can't afford to be changed without serious thinking. What a stupid decision from this well suffered coach. Media, of course plays another crucial role this time. Lack of profressional analysis, purely entertaining instead, the newspaper, journals are misleading the ignorant fans in this country, and eventually biased the dignity players.
How can "Three Lions" fight back to the stage? No one but only themselves. First and the foremost, clearly recognise the real position in this sports and lay down the untouchable dignity.
