A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.

Business Attitudes

The Business Attitudes questionnaire is an instrument in which a person can describe his or her personality, with a particular relevance for the professional environment.

The aim of this Business Attitudes (BAQ|F) questionnaire is to show your personality according to the ‘Big 5’ personality domains that are generally accepted in the present scientific literature:
• Emotional stability
• Extraversion
• Openness
• Altruism
• Conscientiousness
The domain Professionalism contains the different facets that are specifically important within a professional environment.

Emotional Stability
You can handle increased pressure around you up to a certain extent. Even though critical situations are rather stressful, you know how to deal with them in a way that limits the effect on your performance.
You do not make rash decisions but do not hesitate unnecessarily either. As a rule, you do not need too much time to draw conclusions. In difficult or contradictory situations, you will use all the available time before coming to a decision.

Extraversion
Without pushing the limits, you manage to motivate others to accept a certain job and to bring it to a successful conclusion. You usually know what is going on in the group and will use this information when required to give encouragement to others. However, there are also times when you let others get on with it and do not interfere.

Openness
You look for practical solutions to problems without finding it necessary to look up theoretical views and methods. Therefore you prefer specific and workable initiatives rather than abstract ideas, theories and models. Your practical approach and concrete attitude ensure you keep both feet on the ground.
You come up with many solutions for a problem. You will rarely opt for the first solution that presents itself. You usually consider and come up with several alternatives. In this sense you usually have a broad view of things.

Altruism
You enjoy both individual work and teamwork. You regularly consult others, and like to work with them, but also enjoy being able to finalise jobs on your own. Usually you look for a balance between the group's interest and your self-interest.
You are prepared to help others in most cases. You come across as helpful and show a willingness to lend a hand if necessary. You generally enjoy giving other people advice.
In most situations you are perceived as a social person. You easily make contact, are friendly and get on with most people, even people you do not know. Consequently, you come across as friendly, pleasant and spontaneous.

Conscientiousness
Usually you focus on facts and figures and push emotional arguments or your gut feeling to the side. Furthermore, you usually assess intangible elements to be less relevant. You prefer to map things in a more objective and quantifiable way.

Professionalism
You are usually career-minded and ambitious. You set yourself high goals and want to go far. That is why you do your best to get ahead in the organisation and to bear more and more responsibilities.
You always critically evaluate information and ideas with regard to possible contradictions and gaps before you accept and continue working with it. You also see through other people's reasoning if it is not sufficiently thorough. You generally find a good way to express your criticism, as a result of which it is rarely experienced as annoying.
