Get the fucking rat
Written by Jerry Wu

The adaption based on the one of the best Hongkong movies: Infernal Affairs, in the recent years, The Departed depicted the same plot happened in "some years ago" in Boston. As acknowledged by the global andience, the plot of Infernal Affairs snatched the very interests of the public who indeed wish to find out the real landscape of the cops and criminals.

"Get the fucking rat", the double meaning mission of the film took the movie watchers along with the two sides (police or offenders) of the battle. Rat means the severe despicable person who plays the decent part in the team while undermines the success of the progress implicitly. The aweful word is only given to those fucking up bad guys. It is interesting to see that this kind of people are universally existed penatrating to every corner of our life.

The rat is so ugly to be noticed as in the last scenary: a seemingly innocent rat is sneaking on the balcony of the "bad rat" 's house.

"The departed" was so expected that people would like to believe this can be the masterpiece of the contemporary hollywood film. The box office of the origin, infernal affairs was hit the ever top for a long while. The altogether three series gathered the best actors all around the Hongkong and mainland as well. Most of all, the scenario was so well written that the discussion regarding to it hasn't been finished yet after a couple of years from the show time.

With Leonardo Dicaprio and Matt Damon, Holleywood noted actors' attendence as "Good rat" and "Bad rat" respectively, the high expectation was anticipated. While to be fair, the film can only be classified as second level one coz the exact repeat of the original one. The details are too abrupt comparing to the Asian movies. The simple shot, fire and dead are full of the copy. It impressed the audience only with the firmness whereas lack of softness.

As a whole, personally, the film is not well deserved. However, the moment at the cinema tells me one important sentence: get the fucking rat. Chasing the nauseous "rat" still grasped the public as this is the forever lasting topics more than the relationship between cops and criminals.
